Datacolor International develops and manufactures color control systems for all sectors of the textile industry. The use of color control systems significantly decreases the risks of error and the very high costs associated with correcting errors. Color control systems typically consist of computerized color matching and dye formulation units with input from a spectrophotometer; units for preparing, dispensing, and mixing stock solution; and a dyeing unit. Software provides for match prediction, quality control, batch correction, and recipe card generation. The preparation of stock solutions is the most critical phase in color control. Errors in this case can have catastrophic effects in production. The use of computers significantly increases the accuracy of weighing. Testing samples and the correction of formulations based on these tests are the last phase in color control.
