New equipment and dyes have improved dyeing and printing processes. Ciba-Geigy introuduced several new dyes, including the Center Quality Range of more than 60 acid, metal complex, and disperse dyes manufactured to very tight tolerances; two new cold water dispersible versions of its Tectilon line of carpet dyes; and a new red dye, Lanacron Red S-3G, for carpet printing. The company also developed Univadine DIF, a combination migration, dispersion, and leveling chemical for polyester carpets, and CibaFluid, an al purpose dyebath lubricant that prevents cracks and creases during the exhaust dyeing of carpets. Miles introduced a new acid dye and two cold water soluble dyes. Crompton && Knowles also introduced four new water soluble dyes. Milliken Chemical developed a fugitive tint that is easily removed from nylon 6 carpet yarns. The Prism Color/Fst Dye Color Repair system restores color to faded carpets. Many companies exhibited new carpet dyeing equipment at CarpeTech 1994, Becom stramlined its Michangelo F5 Graphic system for the ink jet printing of logos, designs, and photographs onto carpets. Amercan Superba introduced its micro and medium space dyeing equipment trat is capable of dyeing an area as small as 0.125 square inch and no larger than 2 square inches. Mitter's rotary screen printing machines allow faster changing of screens. Kuester increased the speed of its carpet dyeing ranges from 120 feet to 150 feet per minute. The company also offered Fluidyer, an applicator system for solid shade and differential dyeing, and Quick-Change, an applicator for continuous carpet dyeing and printing ranges. Fleissner exhibited its new dye liquor applicator for continuous carpet dyeing and printing. Dalton Industrial systems introudced the Instalab system for dye system for printing computer designed patterns in up to eight colors. HunterLab introduced the UltraScan XE laboratory spectrophotometer for measuring the color of liquild dyes.
