Although fabric manufactureres have invested millions of dollars in improved dystuffs, more advanced machinergy, computerized equipement to match shades, and more sophisticated process control systems, color consistency is not meeting the demands of apparel manufacturers. To a large extent, standards n fabric processing concerning the lightfastness, durability, and consistency of color have not kept pace with the standards of consumers. Inconsistencies in the matchin gof shades and poorly applies color may also result from variations in raw materials, time constraints, a lack of coordination in working with compatible computerized systems, and the samll size of rolls ordered by garment makers.
