Sucker + Mueller has modified onventional indigo dyeing machines for denim to process other colors at a low cost. The major modifications involve the liquor circulation in the troughs, the liquor holding capacity, and the dispensing of dyes and dyeing assistants. The machine is capable of color changes on the same warp because the immersion paths and liquor ratios are adjustable and some processing stages can be run empty. The machine consists of wetting-out, dyeing, fixing, and washing zones. Optional zones include mercerization and oxidaton. Uniform dyeings at high production speeds are possible. An optional component reduces the length of the oxidation zone significantly. The dyeing zone is notable for its uniform liquor flow over the entire width of the yarn sheet and for its high precision squeezing.
