mechanicla finishes are the most improtna tpostdyeing treatments used in garment dyeing. The machine used in drying is a tumbler containing a perforated drum on frictio wheels. A heating unit and an air suction usit are at the back of the drum. Contro of such parameters as temperature, moisture, air circulation rate, and drum speed is critical to optimal operations. The motion of the garments within the dryer is tension-free, which ensures uniform relaxation shrinkage. Toppers simultaneously steam and stretch trousers ater drying, which removes crases and prevents further relaxation shrinkage. The pressign dummy operates like the topper, but it is used to steam and stretch jackets, shirts, and other tops. Ironing is the most labor intensive of the mechnical finishes.
