The Munsell Color SCience Laboratory at the Rocheseter Institute of Technology developed a model for the determination of color-matching functions. The model was used to design a visual colorimeter. The colorimeter utilzed laser primaries and was improved to include CRT primaries and seven interfaerencd filters that simulated daylight in a 2-degree gipartite field. The system sllowed the color-matching of naive observers to be measured in about 30 minutes. Test results obtained using the colormeter correlated well with data collected on the National Ressearch Council of Canada's Trichromator. 7 refs.
