Archaeus Tchnology's treatment system uses Arcasorb to remove soluble color from dyehouse effluent. Arcasorb, a granular meterial based on a natrually occurring polymer, is especially effective ofr removeing reactive dyes from effluent. Raw effuent flows initlally through a prefilter. The effluent passes from the filter to the Arcasorb D contactor, which cleans the effluent before discharge. Spent regeneration fluids are removed for disposal. In tests at a dyehouse in the Severn Trent region of the United Kingdom, the system removed up to 93 percent of the color from effluent.
