In spain small and medium-size textile firms will have to work hard to achieve sufficient competitivity in the European Market. Prices are critical in this respect, and largely based on energy costs. Production must minimize energy expendture and also energy costs overall. Coteneration of mechanical energy and of heat from liquid or gaseous fuels, and solar energy utilzation, can be advantageous in this repect.
