Towards the year 2000 - the state of wet processing

In recent years wet processing has encountered several restrictions, eg global competition, orders for small betches, the changing market climate, the containment of costs, and the requirement for invironmental protection. The ways in which these restrictions have been dealt with are enumerated and developments in drying, colouring substances, the dyeing process and heat and water reclamation are noted. The need for fewer but highly trained operatives to maintain and operate the modern equipment is highlighted.
