The claim is for an improved sample holder for use with a laboratory dyeing apparatus of the type in which fabric samples are dyed in acylindrical vessel containing dyeing liquor whilst being moved in a cyclical fashion. The sample holder comprises a vertical rod for connection to an overhead stirrer. The improvement comprises two spaced apart discs mounted on the rod. Each of the discs has an edge which contacts and holds the fabric sample. There is an annular groove in each of the disc edges and a resilient ring fits snugly into each of the annular grooves.
