Schliessen AG, Saxony has replaced its dye works in Niederfrohna with new plant in which there is a recycling system for the dyebaths and the dye sediment is dried in a new heating power plant. The new power plant will produce 6 megawatts of electrictiy which will cover the power requirements of the works. The heat can be fed into the heating system and the energy from the waste hot water produced by the dyeing process can be reclaimed by heat exchange. About 60^ of the waste water from the dyeing process can be reused after removal of the sediments which can be dried. The German Ministry of the Environment has promoted the project with about 18 milion DM.
