Coloration Systems for Quick Response Manufacturing.

Current research in coloration systems used in quick response manufacturing is focusing on the development of textile substrates for processing on ink jet and xerographic printing machines. The identification of properties optimal for processing and for end uses was the initial phase of the research. The computer simulation of properties for polymer textile substrates, based on the group contribution methodology, assisted in selection. The most promising substrates were selected and developed. Future research will focus on performing screening tests of these substrates using equipment and machinery that is in place.
