An experiment derived a practical recycling system in which waste water loaded with cyanide based toxins is ozonated and deionized to produce saturated ion exchange resins that are suspended in water. The system involves ozonation of the effluent via UV radiation, after which it is passed through cation and anion exchange resin columns. The electric conductivity of typical dyehouse effluent, measured after passage through the anion exchange column, averages less than 10 microsiemens per cubic centimeter. 8 refs.
