Potential of Treating Dyehouse Waste Water Economically.

The economics of wastewater tratment in cotton dyeing plants can be improved by separating the flow from each machine or similar groups of machines and by improving the design of sludge disposal areas. A feasible wastewater tratment scheme involves the separate discharge of dye liquors, rinses, and reduction clearing liquids. This method optimizes such treatment processes as flocculation, flotation, pH adjustment, and filtration for each waste stream. The design of efficient sludge disposal areas includes the calculation of sludge drying rates, which depend upon such factors as initial moisture content, relative humidity, average temperature, and average win velocity.
