Utilizing flyash for colour removal of dye effluents

Since flyash is a rich source of silica, alumina, and other oxides, it has been explored for the removal of colour from dye effluents. Different classes of dyes have been studied at varying dye concentration and quantity of adsorbent. Much better results have been obtained in the case of a diluted sample as compared to a concentrated dye solution, although an increasing quantity of adsorbent has shown no significant improvement.
