Molecular filtration with membrane filters can help solve many environmental problems in the textile industry. Membrane filters are suitable for use in systems for source reduction, concentrating and removing polluting elements, and reusing process water. The selection of a proper membrane filtration system depends on a careful evaluation of pollution loads, preliminary laboratory testing, and pilot scale studies. Any feasibility study should also apply a cost/benefit analysis to the various effluent treatment alternatives.
