Vald Henriksen's jigger dyeing machine is notable for its dosing unit that permits the use of isothermic dyeing processes and achieves a very high level of uniformity even when dyeing large lots. Speeds as high as 200 meters per minute are possible. These advantages make jigger dyeing competitive with continuous dyeing, particularly with medium size lots. A major problem with conventional jigger dyeing machines has been the rinsing phase, which consumes an inefficient quantity of time and water. Vald Henriksen has developed a process in which the fabric passes through a vacuum suction slot after it has left the unwinding roller. The fabric is then wetted again, either by passing through a water bath or by spraying with water, prior to rewinding. The total rinsing process thus occurs as fast as the exchange in the roll permits, and waste in water consumption is eliminated.
