Krantz has added a drying/tumbling capability to its Aero-Dye piece dyeing machine with the development of two differently equipped variants: one for tumbling and one for drying and tumbling. Because the auxiliary capabilities do not alter the design of the Aero-Dye machine, the drying and tumbling options can be retrofitted to existing machines. All that is needed to convert the Aero-Dye for tumbling is regulation of the air temperature, which requires a filter element made of perforated stainless steel, a Bare-tube heat exchanger, a combined pump and fan, and a direct circulating air feed. The Aero-Dye may be adapted for drying and tumbling by the addition of an externally mounted dryer unit comprising a fine mesh gauze filter, flameproof fan, and air dryer that combines circulating air and pressure dryer principles.
