In recent years the job of the chemist-dyer-colorist has become almost impossibly difficult. Complications in dye recipes and fiber types combine with the increased division of lots, shorter deadlines, and difficult working conditions to render the job nearly impossible. To help the belabored technician, the Italian firm Ugolini has introduced its new Dyeing machine SP/110. This machine is designed for use by dye manufacturers to examine and experiment with new dyes and auxiliaries, as well as chemical products, in the development of new formulas by dyeing mills and textile mills with their own laboratories; by universities, technical institutes, and professional schools for investigation and control; and by builders of dyeing machinery. The SP/110 comes with 1,2,4, or 6 independent, stainless steel sterilizers, each of which can hold from 0.35 to 52.9 ounces of material. The machine, which functions up to a temperature of 275 Fahrenheit, is also equipped with a bidirectional circulation pump with a double velocity of 1,400/2,800 rpm.
