Algorithm for Optimizing Color Prediction in Blends.

In colorimetric matching, the four color system cannot always match the blends of precolored fibers. Researcers investigating colorimetric matching attempted to adjust, reconstruct, and modify the current tristimulus color matching algorithm for better application in blending precolored fibers. The proposed algorithm suggests an initial spectrophotometric trial for color matching with all selected colored fibers. If the initial spectrophotometric match does not satisfy the colorimetric conditions, the data are applying the pseudoinverse algorithm in the iterative process, it is unnecessary to restrict the number of colored fibers to four. Because the algorithm does not restrict the number of applied colorants, it permits more than four colored fibers to be used as primaries to match the target color under one illuminant. 14 refs.
