Experience with textile dyeing and bleaching at various locations in the Pearl River Delta, China, is summarized. Waster hardness in some areas can lead to uneven dyeing, dyeing precipitation, shade dulling, harsh fabric handle or chalking is a waters softening agent was not added to the dyebath. Areas where additional water treatemtn is required are indicated.
