Colour removal from aqueous solutions using activated carbon prepared from coir pith was investigated. Coir pith residue was activated in a furnace at 400℃ for an hour. An aqueous solution of Procion Turquoise blue-HE dye was used to conduct batch adsorption studies. The results were encouraging. The effects of carbon loading, solution pH, temperature and dye concentration were determined.
