Decoloration of bifunctional chlorotriazynil azo dye with H₂O₂/UV

The possibility of successful decoloration of chlorotriazynil reactive azo dyes with H₂O₂, activated with UV energy, is described. Results are evaluated with ecological parameters (intensity of dye, velocity of decoloration, COD, TC and BOD). The influence of concentration and the composition of dye solution as well as the intensity of UV reactor are described. The decoloration of commercial dye is compared with synthetised dyes, according to different synthetic routes. None of dyes was ecologically harmful after decoloration with the described process.
