Regeneration of the Textile Industry Waste Waters.

Researchers in Croatia are testing the effectiveness of various treatments for the removal of tensides, dyestuffs, and heavy metals from textile finishing effluents. For heavy metal removal, the investigated treatment processes include ion exchange reactions and absorption with natural aluminosilicates, which contain amorphous silica, activated carbon, zeolite, and kaolin. The experiments will determine optimum treatment conditions for removing the various pollutants. The Ministry of Science of Croatia provided funding for this research. Abstract. 6 refs.
