Then's Airflow AFS system is a breakthrough in dyeing technology. The Airflow AFS is an aerodynamic piece dyeing machine that reduces the time required to bring the liquor to appropriate temperatures by use of heat exchangers and steam injection, and injects fresh water to reduce the temperature quickly during the rinse process. As a result, process time is reduced and dyestuffs are used more efficiently. Compared with jet dyeing, the Airflow AFS uses 50 percent as much water for the peroxide bleaching process and a 33 percent less water for reactive dyeing. In a two bath cotton blend dyeing process, the Airflow AFS required 40-60 percent less time than did the jet dyeing process.
