PET microfibres, with high gloss and greater total surface area, differ in dyeing properties from regular PET fibres. When used in conjunction with the regular PET, differences in property get magnified resulting in uneven appearance of shade and poor fastness properties. In this paper, therefore, an attempt has been made to understand the characteristics associated with dye exhaustion, colour depth, heating rate and the influence on the fastness properties.
