A method of improving the dyeability of cellulosic fabric with reactive dyes comprises pretreating the fabric with an oxidizing agent, aplying chitosan oligomers to the fabric, stabilizing the product of this step by treating it with a solution of a reducing agent, and dyeing the resultant product with a reactive dye.
