Influence of dye bath components on decolorisation process

This article describes the environmentally-friendly process of oxidative decolorization of waste waters with hyrogen peroxide, activated with UV-beams. A comparison of this process with other oxidative decolorizations is given. A study of the influence of dye-bath components on the decolorization process is described, evaluated with time depending reduction of colour intensity and with ecological parameters like COD and TC. The described method turned out to be suitable for decolorizing textile reactive azo dyes of triazynil type, although chemicals, added in the dye-bath reduce the decolorization effect, specially oxidizing agents and NaOH.
