The properties of pigments suitable for the mass-dyeing of polyethylene and polypropylene fibres are reviewed. Chemical structures of low-to-middle performance and high-performance pigments for polypropylene fibres are shown. Graphs showing the UV stability of fibres coloured with various pigments are also included. The influence of pigments on the mechanical properties of fibres is considered.
