Electrochemical ion generation is a proven technology for removing colour, BOD, COD, TOC, solids and heavy metals from textile mill wastewater. Wastewater from textile mills can also be treated using electrochemically added aluminium ions. Many factors must be addressed when choosing which process to implement. Whenever electrochemical ion generation is used, it must be coupled with conventional processes such as clarification and filtration. Along with successful removal of contaminants, this technology is capable of reducing toxicity and producing clean water for reuse.
