Recent developments in wet processing machinery represent evolutionary enhancements to existing design. In most cases, control of conventional wet treatment processes has been improved through automation and electronic process control. The goal of most incremental design improvements is better production flexibility, versatility, and reproductibility. The need for shorter and faster treatment cycles, quick style changes, quick response, reduced chemical consumption, and energy conservation have had significant influences on the design of new pretreatment, dyeing, printing, and finishing ranges. A technical review discusses recent machine designs that meet current production needs and demands. 32 refs.
