New Technologies in Package/Piece Dyeing.

A short discussion, which is heavily supplemented by photographs, illustrations, and diagrams, reviews technical developments in package and piece dyeing technology. In package dyeing, recent innovations include the introduction of horizontal and vertical designs, automation of chemical dosing, improved process control, robotic package transport, and automatic package loading and unloading equipment. Yarn package dyeing installations often select pressure drying or radio frequency (RF) drying equipment. RF drying, in particular, offers several advantages, including greater process flexibility, better yarn quality, and improved productivity. In piece dyeing, the new technologies inlcude jet dyeing equipment, such as Gaston County's new hydrawulic jet design and THEN's Airflow aerodynamic jet dyeing machine. The aerodynamic system reduces chemical and water consumption and reduces effluent pollution.
