Treatment methods for dyehouse effluents are reviewed. Oxidative dyestuff destruction by UV light or a combination of UV light and hydrogen peroxide and by electrochemical processes is discussed. Other processes considered include selective dyestuff elimination by complex formation, adsorption, ion exchange, column extraction and wet oxidation. Recycling is briefly discussed.
