Effluent Treatment Using Chemical Flocculation.

Techspan Associates, together with the Clean Water Company Limited, develop inexpensive effluent treatment systems suitable for use by the textile industry. The primary component of Techspan systems is a tangential flow separator, which is a highly efficient sedimentation and clarification unit. If the discharge requirements for chemical oxygen demand cannot be met by chemical flocculation alone, the system design can be supplemented with the Procede COR, a patented biofilter that operates on the principle of biofixation. The Procede COR utilizes physical, chemical, and biological processes. Physical and chemical processes promote coagulation of organic pollutants around biofixation particles, adjust effluent pH, and remove certain harmful metals, sulfides, and mercaptans. Bacteria degrade chemical pollutants.
