Westover Industries Limited designs effluent treatment facilities for the dyeing industry. The water discharged by Westover plants is suitable for industrial uses. Westover bases its designs on a variety of inline treatment methods. An appropriate design depends on the profile of the effluent, the intended end use of the reclaimed water, the available outlets for removal of the dewatered sludge, and cost constraints. In general, the Westover treatment process comprises preliminary mixing of the effluents, pH adjustment to make the water suitable for reuse, removal of foreign matter, removal of suspended solids by dissolved air flotation, ozone or hydrogen peroxide decolorization and sterilization, and sludge dewatering. Installation of a Westover design results in savings in water consumption and effluent discharge costs amounting to approximately 30.03 pounds sterling per hour.
