Researchers investigated a variety of methodologies for reducing wastewater pollution discharged from textile wet processing. Methods investigated included wastewater volume reduction, effluent recovery and reuse, chemical substiution, and effluent treatment. Effluent treatment methods included screening, equalization, acid dosing, chemical coagulation, sedimentation, activated sludge processing, secondary settling, filtration, and activated carbon treatment. Results indicated that water consumption reduction, pollutant reduction through efficient processing and chemical substitution, and appropriate effluent treatment led to a significant reduction in wastewater effluent discharged from textile wet processing.
