A water-soluble film for packaging dyestuffs and pigments has been developed by Aquafilm Ltd of Hartlebury, UK. A way has been found of making blown film from polyvinyl alcohol using standard equipment. As a result, precisely measured amounts of dyestuffs and pigments can be packed in bags or sachets made from the film. When dropped into cold water the film dissolves and the dyestuff is dispersed. The films have no affect on the dyestuffs and are non-toxic
