Photofading mechanism of arylmethane dyes on real silk

The effects of amino acids and their yellowing substances on the photofading of arylmethane dyes on real silk are investigated. The infuluence of oxygen, pH, the wavelength of the light and nickel salts is also considered. Tryptophan and tyrosine accelerate photofading of the arylmethane dyes; it is a photo-oxidation process and external factors affect the process in different ways.
