A multipurpose wet processing range from Babcock for woven and knitted fabrics consists of three main units; the Spray-Tex spray scouring unit, the Traflo-Tex suction drum scouring unit, and the Store-Tex dwell unit. The operation of each unit is described and illustrated. Practical experience with the range is discussed. The examples include the aftreatment of prints, afterwashing after dyeing with reactive dyes by the pad cold-batch method, continuous bleaching of both knitted and woven fabrics, the use of the Store-Tex for caustic soda treatment, and curtain finishing.
