From the sorption behaviour of individual dyes on homogeneous substrates, characteristic constants can be derived which allow computation of the sorption behaviour of combinations of these dyes on mixed substrates. The ideas on which these calculations are based are discussed and their practical application is demonstrated with examples direct dyes on cotton, viscose, modal.
