The Midlands Region of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, UK, recently organized a symposium on developments in dyeing. Papers presented are reviewed. Topics included the dyeing and finishing of fabrics containing Lycra elastane fibres, the dyeing of microfibres (polyester and nylon), and the dyeing of silk.
