Henriksen has developed a high-speed control for jig dyers that decreases processing time by up to 30 percent. The microprocessor regulates the speed of the taking-up roller to maintain a nearly constant centrifugal force throughout the passage. Jiggers can achieve maximum speeds of up to 200 meters per minute. One of the main features of Henriksen's jiggers is a mechanical gearbox, which is simple to maintain and has an exceptionally long life. Compared with a hydraulic gearbox, energy consumption is low. Constant fabric tension eliminates tailing, stripes, and crinkles. The high level of automation assures batch-to-batch reproducibility. The jigger is manufactured in three models: the Basic, the Dyematic, and the Automatic. The liquor ratio can be as low as 1:2 for both small and large batches.
