An international conference dealing with recent developments in dyeing theory and technology was held at the University of Leeds. Many of the presentations at the conference dealt with environmental issues. Individual papers considered the level of chromium in dyebath effluent, the action of Albegal B levelling agent, the use of mass spectrometry to determine the oxidation state and depth distribution of chromium on and in wool fibers, and the dyeing of silk using reactive dyes.
