The Bombay Textie Research Association has developed an automated laboratory jigger capable of handling a fabric sample 10 centimeters wide and 3 to 4 meters long. A special electronic motor drive moves the fabric through the liquor bath at 2.4 meters per minute. The jigger can be separated from the dyeing vessel, making filling and emptying simpler and quicker. The unit is intended for sample dyeing, shade matching in conjuction with computer color matching, dyestuff standardization, and general research and development work in which chemical processing is required.
