The Rotocolor metering installation for liquid and powder dyes, introduced by Lawer in 1989, is described. The basic Rotocolor unit consists of 10 tanks, each for a different dye. The unit can be expanded modularly in increments of 10 tanks up to a miximum of 100 tanks. Each tank has a dosing spindle that conveys pigment to the scales. The speed of dyestuff flow is controlled by a personal computer. Tank movement, stock metering, and weighing are also computer-controlled. The Rotocolor installation unloads the scales after the metering process, places the bucket on a roller conveyor, puts a new bucket on the scales, prints a tub ticket, and affixes the ticket to the bucket.
