Gaston County Dyeing Machine Company designed and manufactures the SuperTex + SOL Dyehouse Management System, which provides supervisory monitoring and control of production. The system generates information for both machine operators and control supervisors on machine status, work in process, schedule, and nonstandard conditions. Information includes any curruent or downstream processes that require operator intervention. Control room supervisors document any decisions that deviate from standard processes for evaluation. The system integrates the color citchen and weighing room into production control, including schedules, dye formulations, inventory, weighing, and dosing. The objective in schedule control is to maximize machine utilization and ensure that dye lots are in the correct sequence.
