Scholl America Incorporated manufactures the Softglider dyeing machine, which hydraulically opens fabric rope to eliminate rope marks. Machine configuration consists of a novel double U shaped design to optimize fabric transport. The outer U serves as the fabric chamber, and the inner U, which is known as the intensive zone, serves as the dyeing chamber. Slow movement of the water column in the intensive zone ensures tensionless and soft fabric treatment. A continually increasing cross section in the intensive zone after the nozzle slows the fluid velocity, which results in an improved fabric to dye liquor contact time critical for fast and level dyeing and efficiency in rinsing. Submerging the circular jet nozzle within the flood box eliminates air from the intensive zone, which significantly reduces foaming and therefore decreases the need for surfactants.
