Argelich, Termes y Cia SA manufactures the Airtint piece dyeing machine, which is notable for its ability to operate at ultralow liquor ratios. The most important modification to the unit is the replacement of water with air to transport the fabric during dyeing. In dyeing 1 pound of 100 percent cotton, the Airtint uses 2.83 gallons of water compared with 9.56 gallons used by conventional units.
