Available methods for the treatment of effluents from wool dyeing are described. The International Wool Secretarist has assessed precipitation, adsorption, biological degradation, oxidation, reduction solvent extraction and electrochemical treatment. Preliminary screening and flow and pH balancing, followed by a chemical precipitation process, are recommended.
