Comparison of Different Rinsing Processes in Short-Liquor Piece Dyeing Mechines.

Researchers compared batchwise rinsing, continuous rinsing with liquor circulation via the main pump, between two levels with liquor circulation by the main pump, and rinsing without circulation by the main pump. Using common salt to determine the rinsing effect eliminated the influence of substantivity. Batchwise rinsing achieved a uniform concentration distribution after a few fabric cycles. Researchers increased rinse water consumption 50 percent for continuous rinsing to achieve the same results obtained by batchwise rinsing Neither rinsing between two levels nor rinsing without liquor circulation revealed any advatages with regard to water consumption and process time. 7 refs.
